UX Design Portfolio

My name is Michael Ryan and I am an Irish UX Design part-time postgraduate student at Dun Laoghaire Institute Of Art Design + Technology. I am also a certified UX and UI designer at the UX Design Institute and a BSc Multimedia graduate. I am currently working in an IT Support role.

Usability Testing Project 

Cashel Blue mobile website redesign

I created this project as a part of my Postgraduate diploma in UX design. This project contained light user research followed by a lot of emphasis on interaction design and usability testing. This was a redesign of a local Irish cheese brand website.

User Research Project

Career's Fair Plus app redesign 

I created this case study as a part of my postgraduate diploma in UX design. This was an industry-standard project where we met with the developers of the Careers Fair app who explained how the app worked, we performed light user research and attempted to improve the virtual careers fair experience of the app. ​ This is a short project where I experiment with many different empathy artefacts.

Fly UX 

This is a project I completed for my UX Design Institute assignment. I was tasked with designing my own airline mobile app. This was a UX research and design project. The visual design wasn't a requirement for my brief.

Nu-banc

This is a visual design case study where I had to develop a responsive banking application that worked across mobile tablet and desktop screens. This was my UI design assignment for the UX Design Institute.  

PROJECTS

I'm Mike,
nice to meet you.

My name is Michael but usually, people refer to me as Mike and I am based in Ireland. I have an inquisitive mind and don't remember a time I wasn't passionate about technology and psychology.

I found my love for User Experience Design while completing my undergraduate degree in Multimedia (2.1), a broad study area, but UX Design quickly grabbed my attention.

   

After graduating from university in 2020 I wanted to further my knowledge in this area, so I enrolled in the UX Design Institute to complete their professional diploma in UX Design (grade achieved: 79%). 

​

In 2022 I decided to return to education where I completed a professional certificate in User Interface Design with the UX Design Institute (grade achieved 79%). 

​

Currently, I am working towards a postgraduate diploma in user experience design at Dun Laoghaire Institute Of Art Design + Technology and I am set to graduate in May 2024. 

​

This is a part-time course that I am completing while working in an IT support role.
